Fleet

387 aircraft in service today, including 125 operated by the company’s regional subsidiaries; these planes have an average age of 9.9 years.

Air France is full owner of 2/3 of the fleet, 1/3 is leased on 30 September 2010.

Long-haul aircraft

There are two types of planes among the 104 now in the Air France long-haul fleet:

  • Boeing: 9 Boeing 747-400s and 59 Boeing 777-200s and -300s.
  • Airbus: 15 A340-300s, 15 A330-200s and 6 A380s.

Medium-haul aircraft

There is only one aircraft family in the Air France medium-haul fleet, the A320s. Of the 153 aircraft in the medium-haul fleet, there are:

  • 18 A318s, 43 A319s, 59 A320s and 25 A321s.

In 2003, Air France was the first airline major to operate all four aircraft in the A320 family.

Cargo aircraft

Air France operates 5 all-cargo aircraft: 3 Boeing 747-400 ERFs and 2 Boeing 777 Freighters. Air France also carries cargo in the hold of all of its long-haul passenger aircraft.
